Don’t just learn about the past, taste it!
Mixology for the Lovelorn, then and now explores the intoxicating botanical world of A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as how early modern potions for love, heartache, and heart health transformed into our modern-day spirits and cocktails. The roundtable features DC mixologists Derek Brown (Mindful Mixology) and Bridget Albert (Market Fresh Mixology Presents Life, Love, Happiness, and Cocktails) alongside historian Marissa Nicosia (Cooking in the Archives) to discuss historical potions and their recreation, and the history and evolution of alcohol and cocktails.
